MyNDTALK with Dr. Pamela Brewer began in September, 1995. Now in its 19th year, MyNDTALK is a KXCR weekly relationship/mental health program with a goal to inform and inspire self-respect, self-awareness and personal empowerment… in short – mental and relationship wellness – mental and relationship health literacy.
The goal of MyNDTALK interviews is to provide the MyNDTALK listener with current, thoughtful, often provocative insights into current political / social/ psychological issues that affect daily lives and impact mental health/well-being.
Previous guests have included Dr. Justin Frank (Bush On The Couch & Obama On The Couch), Bruce Jacobs (Race Manners), Dr. Nina Brown (Children Of The Self-Absorbed) Dr. Thomas Harbin (Beyond Anger) and Dr. William Doherty (Take Back Your Marriage).
Pamela Barrett Brewer earned her MSW in Clinical Social Work from New York University, New York, New York. Brewer graduated with honors from New York University where she was the first African American and first Social Work Student in the history of the University to be selected to deliver the Student Address at the graduation ceremonies. Brewer went on to receive her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. Brewer is a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty-five years of postgraduate clinical experience.
Brewer has written and produced for television and radio, published many articles and made appearances on local radio programs and local and national television programs. Her professional memberships include The National Association of Social Workers, The American Psychological Association, and AFTRA.
